As a vital member of the sales team, the Sales Engineer is primarily responsible for communicating the value of UMT360 solutions to prospective customers. The Sales Engineer will provide support to the regional sales teams in defining strategies for successful sales and implementations of UMT360 solutions in a broad range of applications. These will include Project Portfolio Management, IT Project Portfolio Management, IT Financial Management, Application Portfolio Management and Integrated IT Portfolio Analysis. In addition, s/he will be expected to present to government and commercial customers information concerning the technical and business benefits of UMT360 solutions.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-sales technical support for all UMT360 products.
  • Work together with the Business Development and Technical Support teams to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
  • Identify customer technical requirements, provide clear estimation of feasibility and risks.
  • Support contract negotiations with technical background.
  • Prepare project proposals and responses to RFP’s and RFI’s.
  • Prepare initial solution presentations and demonstrations for all UMT360 products.
  • Provide high-level technical support, consultation and training on company’s products and capabilities to partners, end-users and other departments as part of the sales cycle.
  • Work closely with Product Management to identify, evaluate, and make technical recommendations regarding strategic product enhancements based on market initiatives, new technology, partnerships or customer requirements.
  • Arrange and coordinate product demonstrations or trial installations of products.
  • Maintain a high degree of technical awareness of relevant products, competitors, and trends in the marketplace.

Desired skills & experience:

  • 5+ years selling enterprise software solutions in a sales engineering or consultative role into large organizations. Project Portfolio Management sale experience is a definite plus
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
  • Project Managements certification
  • Good architectural knowledge of major enterprise applications (e.g. operating systems, standard business applications, web-based applications, etc.)
  • Self-motivated to follow customer questions to closure
  • Demonstrated experience in working independently, leading projects and developing solutions by working with diverse teams.
  • Track record of strong strategic decision making; obtaining information, and identifying key issues and relationships relevant to long-range goal or vision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree.
