UMT360 v5.13 – Product Update 13

We’re pleased to announce the availability of UMT360 v5.13 – Product Update 13 (PU13). Product Updates include all previously released public updates and private hotfixes. We strongly recommend that any patch and release is validated in a non-production environment first before being applied to production environments.

UMT360 v5.13 adds support for the Office365 Modern Authentication method when integrating with Project Online, in addition to the existing Legacy Authentication option. Modern Authentication offers more secure user authentication and authorization. We will continue to support both Legacy and Modern authentication going forward.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If your organization is using Project Online, you are required to complete a one-time configuration change to mappings between Project Online Project Detail Pages and UMT360 Forms.  Please see below for an overview of the configuration changes that need to be applied to each UMT360 instance. Additional information is included with the user documentation available for download through the Customer Portal

  • Step 1: Go to UMT360 Settings – Manage UMT360 Form Mappings admin page and re-create the mappings between Project Online PDPs and UMT360 Forms
  • Step 2: Go to Project Online and add a Content Editor web part to each PDP that does not require a mapping with UMT360 Forms
  • Step 3: Link each Content Editor web part to the UMT360FormMappings.js file located in the UMT360 Connector folder from the Project Online site (for example: /sites/pwa/UMT360 Connector/UMT360FormMappings.js)

Below is a list of changes that will be introduced with this update:

  • Portfolio Manager
    • Added the ability to create and manage multiple Plans and Scenarios
    • Added the ability to create private or shared Plans
    • Added the ability to report on Plan and Scenario data using OData
    • Added the ability to filter which Resources are included in new Plans based on Resource Fields and/or whether or not they have existing assignments
    • Added the ability to use custom Enterprise Financial Types
    • Fixed issue when filtering entities using List Columns
    • Fixed issue with entities not being added to the Plan when their timelines partially intersect the Plan Range
    • Fixed issue that prevents the creation/update of a Plan when a resource field with lookup table that has no assignment values is used as the Default Summary Field
  • Core Financial Capabilities
    • Added the ability to manage financial plans using custom financial sub-categories on an entity by entity basis
    • The “Saving…” message is displayed in UMT360 Financial web parts only when corresponding processes occur in the background
  • Resource Management
    • Improved performance and usability for Weeks granularity in the context of UMT360 Resources, My Resource Plans and My Resources web parts
    • Fields added to UMT360 Resources web-parts are now automatically displayed in the web-part
    • Introduced the ability to choose whether inactive Resources are synchronized with the UMT360 Resource Pool
    • Improved Search performance in the Add Resources popup from the UMT360 Resources web part
    • Improved the user experience when the UMT360 Resources grid is loading or Queue jobs are being processed in the background
    • Fixed issue with UMT360 Resources being deleted from the Resource Pool if they cannot be read from Project
    • Fixed reporting data inconsistencies when a Reassign action is performed in the UMT360 Resources web-part
    • Fixed issue with Email Addresses not being saved when they begin with upper case letters
    • Fixed an error which occurred when changing the Start Date of the recurrent Resource Synchronization process, while having a different locale than US
    • Fixed an error which occurred in UMT360 Financial and Resources grids when refreshing/reloading the page, while using the latest version of Chrome or Edge (chromium)
    • Fixed an issue with UMT360 OData feeds failing to refresh in Power BI while using Weeks as the lowest granularity
  • JIRA Connector
    • Introduced new option which determines if the Project Lead/Project Owner field is updated in Jira/Project
  • Other
    • Added support for Office365 Modern Authentication as an alternative to SharePoint Online Credentials Authentication
    • Lookup table values are now displayed instead of GUIDs in multiple OData Views
    • Draft surveys can now be identified in the [OData].[SurveyUserAnswers] view using a new column called IsDraft
    • Reporting Entity Changed queue job is no longer fired for entities which are not yet created in the UMT360 Database
    • Introduced a new User Name column in the UMT360 Queue admin page
    • Fixed issue with Field Dependencies not being created on browsers other that Chrome

UMT360 v5.12 – Product Update 12

    • Portfolio Manager – Enable organizations to model the impact of changes to project and program portfolios using what-if analysis
      • Measure the impact of changes using key portfolio metrics
      • Leverage interactive roadmaps to model changes to project portfolios, such as adding, removing or rescheduling projects
      • Optimize resource utilization by running analysis at summary level (e.g. role, team, location) or drill down to the named resource level
      • Optimize cost by running multi-year fiscal planning, cost reduction scenarios, budget utilization, etc.
      • Maximize ROI and accelerate payback
  • Core Financial Capabilities
    • Display the Proposed End Date in the Manage Financial Timeline dialog, while Change Requests that include timeline changes are in a Pending or Draft state
    • Fixed issue with duplicate snapshots being created during Stage Transitions when processing the transitions takes a long time
    • Fixed issue with ribbon becoming disabled in UMT360 Actuals web part when submitting a period without previously saving the financial values
    • Fixed an error which occurred when the timeline of an entity which aggregates financial values from one or more entities was modified and then returned to its original value
    • Fixed issue with Forecast period becoming editable when the last Actuals period is re-opened and the Lock Forecast Values upon approving Financial Status Periods option is being used
    • Fixed an error which occurred when exporting Financial grids to Excel and having long entity names
  • Resource Management
    • Added Weekly granularity in the context of UMT360 Resources, UMT360 My Resource Plans and UMT360 My Resources web parts
    • Improved performance in the Add Resources popup from the UMT360 Resources, UMT360 My Resource Plans and UMT360 My Resources web parts
    • Added the ability to automatically remove resources from Build Team when they are no longer included in the UMT360 Resource Plans, when those resources do not have a task assignment in the Project Plan
    • Added Email Address field in Create Resource popup from Resource Pool administration page
    • The value limit for Full Time Equivalent (FTE) has been removed
    • Fixed Values have been changed in another session error displayed in UMT360 Resources web part upon publishing the Project while using UMT360 Resources Edit Values only through Project Synchronization and Automatically Update Values on Project Plan Publish
    • The order of the Resource Dimensions in the Displayed Resource Dimensions field is persisted in the web part editor
    • The Apply button is now functional in the UMT360 Resources web part editor o Values are properly updated in UMT360 Resources web part when using Project Plan Integration and reassigning an assignment to a resource which is synchronized from Project
    • Fixed issue with Fields Update queue job getting stuck in a sleeping state whenever a new resources was added to the UMT360 Resource Plan while using Field Mappings

    • Added a new Synchronized column to the Milestones OData view
    • Date Range Settings from Portfolio Roadmap Timeline Views are now persisted o The Entity bars are now properly adjusted in Roadmaps when using intrinsic Project fields to capture their Start and End Dates
    • Fixed issue with read-only Date Fields being editable in Milestones on certain browsers
    • The Project Summary Task is no longer synchronized with the UMT360 Milestones web part when the Project Schedule contains only milestone tasks

    • The Global Options administration page has been redesigned with a more user friendly UI
    • Added Start Date and End Date fields to the Entities OData view
    • Fixed issue with UMT360 Queue processes being fired for entities which no longer exist in Project
    • Calculated SharePoint columns are now supported in the UMT360 Entity Details web part
    • The web part order from Project Detail Pages and UMT360 Forms is now persisted after upgrading to the latest UMT360 Version
    • Sync Provider Assignments and Synchronize Entity Information to the Reporting Database queue jobs are no longer started for projects that don’t exist in Project anymore
    • The Synchronize Entities dialog from the Manage Entity Type Settings administration page is filtered to show only Projects that are not created in UMT360

    • Fixed issue with Roadmaps and Milestones not being displayed when using calculated fields to determine the roadmap start or end dates for entities

    • Fixed issue with the Financial Breakdown Field value being removed from the Data Exchange wizard

    • UMT360 My Resources: adds the ability for Resource Owners to manage individual assignments of all resources they are responsible for
    • Added the ability to reassign work from one resource to another
    • Added calculated Resource Dimensions to display time-phased work variance: Planned vs. Committed and Actuals vs. Committed
    • Roadmap Tracking Icons: added visual indicators that help track milestone status and interdependencies within UMT360 Roadmaps

    • Fixed issues when setting the Timeline Start Date/End Date to a non-working day after resetting the execution of a project

    • Resource Availability: added new availability views that provide the ability to easily find and add resources with availability to a Resource Plan, including advanced searching and filtering
    • UMT360 Jira Connector: this is the general availability / public release of the bi-directional Jira integration, previously available to select customers only

    • UI improvements to preserve the order of the selected Breakdown Financial Custom Fields across sessions

UMT360 v5.7 – Cumulative Update 7

We’re pleased to announce the availability of UMT360 v5.7 – Cumulative Update 7 (CU7). Cumulative Updates include all previously released public updates and private hotfixes. We strongly recommend that any patch and release is validated in a non-production environment first before being applied to production environments.

  • New features and significant enhancements
    • Resource Rates and Financial Integration: added the ability to manage secure global resource rates in UMT360 and to automatically update financial views (cost nodes & allocation centers) from the UMT360 Resource Plan
    • OData enhancements: added new views for UMT360 configuration – OData.Fields, OData.FinancialDimensions, OData.FinancialTemplates, OData.EntitySettings (including Timeline information) and renamed a few views for consistency – OData.EnterpriseFinancialTypes, OData.Entities, OData.Surveys
  • Core Financial Capabilities
    • Added notification emails for the Submitter of a Change Request on approval or rejection
    • Portfolio Managers now have the Approve Change Request permission set to Allow by default
    • Fixed issue with the Review Change Request button disappearing when creating a draft or pending Change Request under specific scenarios
    • Fixed issue with the Report Text Fields being displayed in Change Requests when performing copy actions in a Budget Dimension in execution

    • Fixed issue with Update Values for Entity queue job failing when changing granularity
    • Addressed minor display inconsistencies in the queue work item details pop-up

    • Added automatic retry mechanism for queue jobs that fail with a CICOCheckedOutToOtherUser error
    • Fixed timing issue with queue job failing when the Change Request workflow started before information on Change Request (Status/Submitter/Submitted date) got a change to get updated

Using Dependencies & Validations for Project Online/Server Fields

Display People Pickers In Project Online
