Cumulative Update 1 (CU1) for UMT360 for SharePoint 2013 SP1

We are pleased to announce the release of the UMT360 for SharePoint 2013 SP1 (2014 release) – Cumulative Update 1 / CU1. Cumulative Updates include all previously released public updates and private hotfixes. UMT strongly recommends that any patch and release is validated in a non-production environment first before being applied to production environments.

Here’s the list of fixes and improvements addressed:

  • Core Financial Capabilities
    • Added the ability to set the number of decimals displayed (between 0 and 6) based on a Global Option
    • Addressed issues with the read-only of a Financial Dimension not being properly handled across multiple Enterprise Financials Types using that same Financial Dimension, which could lead to incorrect warnings when creating Change Requests
    • Eliminated the need for the View Approvers Project Server permission for users submitting a Change Request
    • Added the ability to maximize financial grids for easier editing and visualization
    • Added the Change Request Description field to the approval emails
    • Project Name, Change Request Name and Change Request Description to the approval task details
    • Provide the ability to edit the Name and Description for draft Change Requests
    • Addressed issues with Snapshot creation failing under certain configurations
  • Performance and Reliability
    • Significantly improved load times for the Project Server integration dialog with a large number of tasks updates
    • Addressed issues with queue jobs being apparently stuck in a Waiting… phase and the workflow not progressing to the next stage
    • Addresses issues with Project Server out-of-the-box permissions groups not being recognized properly under some locales or configurations when using the SharePoint permission mode
    • Addressed reliability issues with the Extend Timeline operation that could lead to a ProjectExceededItemsLimit error
    • Addressed issues with promoting list items to projects and pushing settings for entities that do not have a Global Template assigned
    • Improved performance and reliability for the CAL assignment administrative page on sites with a large number of users
    • Addressed provisioning issues when upgrading from UMT360 for SharePoint 2010 CU3. Note that this CU1 needs to be applied before starting the provisioning process (which is triggered by the SharePoint Products and Configuration Wizard)
    • Improved queue reliability when multiple queue instances are running in parallel or when the SQL Server is restarted
  • Data Import
    • Addressed import failures when updating custom field values for projects which were promoted from SharePoint lists or sites
    • Addressed deadlock issues when multiple Change Requests are created simultaneously through a Data Import session
    • Added the ability to import custom field values for all UMT360 SKUs
  • Other
    • Reduced queue logging for non-Verbose modes
    • Improved handling of scenarios when the Project Server Delegate feature is active
    • Added customization hooks that allow for changing styles for the financial grids rows (read-only, color, etc.)
    • Fixed incorrect redirection links when clicking on a list item in a the Relationship web part
    • Improved handling for scenarios where the Manage Financial Custom Fields permission is set to Deny
    • Addressed JavaScript errors in Portfolio Center when creating custom filters
    • The link to the project in a Change Request approval task now opens in a new window
