An Oasis For PMOs In The Desert

The UMT360 team, along with PMO leaders from around the world, will be in Phoenix from November 8-11, 2015 for the PMO Symposium.

The PMO Symposium is one of our favorite events of the year. It’s where hundreds of business leaders gather for a behind-the-scenes look into the proven strategies and practices that drive success for some of the world’s leading PMOs. Each year it seems to get better and better, with just about everyone responsible for directing their organization’s portfolio of projects, programs and initiatives in attendance!

That’s why the UMT360 team is excited to be a sponsor of this year’s PMO Symposium in Phoenix, which features an impressive slate of inspiring speakers and informative sessions, including:

  • Frank LaRocca from Con Edison, who will host a session that explores how leading an Enterprise PMO is essentially like becoming the CFO of your portfolios.
  • Roger Williams from Bristol-Myers Squibb, who will describe his organization’s journey toward a goal of becoming the benchmark in the biopharma industry.
  • Rebecca Vento from Navy Federal Credit Union, a PMO of the Year Award 2015 Finalist who will share what steps they took to take their PMO to the next level.

But we’re also looking forward to meeting new friends at the event. So if you plan to attend, stop by booth 11 in the exhibit hall and have some fun playing PMO Jenga. Try your luck and see how well you can react to the demands of constantly changing conditions. Make the right decisions and you’re a hero. But make sure you have a clear plan and think through the impact of your decisions, or the entire system could collapse!

If that sounds a little too much like the current state of your PMO, maybe it’s time to consider a new approach. With this year’s event being held in the desert, just think of the UMT360 booth as an oasis of PMO understanding – a place full of refreshing new ideas about what it takes to establish a more Strategic PMO. Just let us know how we can help!
